Avenger Endgame is the better and more impressive movie, because as Game of Thrones recently reiterated, sticking the landing is one of the hardest things for a popular franchise. And the MCU is as popular as it gets.
Infinity War is undoubtedly better paced and has a more tightly etched narrative, but the emotional highs in Endgame overcome anything that Infinity War offers, including its greatest strength – Thanos.

Infinity War had the luxury of being a near standalone movie. It was set up as a quest movie, where the protagonist has a clear goal, i.e., acquiring all the Infinity Stones. That lends the film a sense of propulsion; Infinity War rarely slows down, if ever. And while others might see that as a boon, I don’t necessarily agree.
There are few meaningful character beats in the movie, because there’s no time. Everything is done in the service of getting to the endgame – Thanos acquiring the stones. This works for Infinity War and ensures it’s a tremendously entertaining movie but one where the focus is on a previously unknown character and not on our heroes.
Cap is essentially sidelined. avengers endgame free movie could afford to do that because Endgame is the next chapter and was set up as the movie that will do the emotional heavy lifting. Also worth pointing out is that they were both filmed back to back, so the Russos had a clear plan in place. Infinity War owes its pace to Endgame.
Endgame is special in many ways. Moreover, we can’t underestimate the immense scope of this production and how difficult it is to wrap up a decade’s worth of storylines.
However, most importantly, Endgame is special because it is the emotional zenith of the MCU. The movie is chockfull of emotionally resonant scenes, and these scenes have an added weight to them because of the extended amount of time we’ve spent with these characters.
- Hawkeye’s family gets decimated.
- Tony’s return to earth and his subsequent outburst on Cap.
- Steve’s acceptance of the new world order. The group therapy scene cemented the fact that even if the world didn’t need Captain America anymore, it would always need Steve Rogers, the eternal optimist.
- Natasha’s emotionally ‘compromised’ state. The scene with the sandwich is the best acting Johansson has done in the MCU.
- Scott’s reunion with the now grown up Cassie. “You’re so big”! Paul Rudd really brought it in that scene.
- Tony’s refusal to help the others because he’s scared to lose his new found family.
- “Love you 3000”! Pepper’s acceptance with the fact that Tony could never be able to live with himself if he didn’t help. She knew he could be heading to his death but pushed him to do it anyway because she knew the kind of man he is.
- Steve and Tony’s reconciliation.
- Tony’s interaction with Howard Stark. He finally got closure on his fraught relationship with his father.
- Natasha’s sacrifice for her family.
- Thor’s heart-to-heart with his mother.
- “Do you trust me?” “I do”
- The highest of highs – Cap lifts Mjolnir. “On your left”, the portals open.
- Tony and Peter meet again. That hug.
- Tony’s sacrifice.
- Pepper’s last words to Tony “We’re safe, you can rest now.”
- Tony’s funeral. “Proof that Tony Stark has a heart.”
- “I’ll get you all the cheeseburgers you want, kid”.
- Steve's reunion with Peggy. What a moment that was, paying off the heartbreaking conclusion to The First Avenger. They finally got their dance, and in the process, we got a priceless ending.
Endgame is a rousing tale of love, friendship and sacrifice. It was an immensely emotional experience for fans that have been on this journey from the beginning.
I’m sure there are many arguments to be made in favour of Infinity War, but in the battle of logic vs emotion, emotion wins, every time.
Another thing in favour of Endgame are the performances.
Robert Downey Jr has been Tony Stark for so long that it’s easy to forget he’s a world class actor, touted as being the next Marlon Brando when he was first coming onto the scene. Now usually, the role of Tony Stark doesn't require him to do much heavy lifting, but when it was needed in Endgame, he unsurprisingly rose to the occasion. He was phenomenal and he IS Iron Man.
It’s also safe to say that Evans, Johansson and Renner delivered their very best performances as their respective characters in Endgame.

Avengers Endgame is the better movie because it taps into our emotions and takes us on a journey we are not likely to forget for a while yet. And that’s what it’s all about, isn't it?

I said Endgame was a great MCU movie.
But there are a couple scenes that made me go “Huh?”
For starters: The Soul Stone.
According to the Red Skull, in order to get the Soul Stone you must sacrifice someone you love the most.
But here’s the thing. Hawkeye didn’t kill Black Widow.
Black Widow KILLED herself. Black Widow committed SUICIDE
That doesn’t make sense. Hawkeye didn’t sacrifice anyone. Black Widow purposely jumped out, Hawkeye was trying to save her.
You can’t just commit suicide and get the Soul Stone when the Soul Stone demands a sacrifice for someone else.
It literally doesn’t make sense. No, people can’t say Black Widow “loved herself more than anyone else.” No. That's not true. Its a plot hole.
Technically, Hawkeye shouldn’t even have the Soul Stone. But because of plot convivences and the power of the plot hole, Hawkeye gets the Soul Stone by cheating.
Another thing I didn’t like is how Thor became the next Robert Baratheon.
Now yes. I know why it made sense. And I could get it.
But lets be honest. Thor was more badass with the short hair than the long hair.
But that is just nitpicky a bit. Hopefully Thor gets his killer abs back.
And there are people who are so sensitive that they criticize Thor being the butt of fat jokes. But that's their problem, not us.
If I can think of one problem, I just didn’t like the time travel explaination, because it breaks their own rules.
In the final scene, Captain America plans to return the Infinity Stones to its rightful owner and shape (I don’t know how Steve is going to make the Space Stone turn back into the Tesseract, or how in the hell is Steve going to react to Red Skull being the keeper of Vormir).
Here’s the thing. According to Bruce Banner, the time travel in their universe isn’t the same as Bootstrap Paradox. Its not like the grandfather/bootstrap paradox. Basically, according to Banner when they go to the past, the present will be the same no matter how many times they changed the past. There will be no time loops. What they do will create an alternate reality/timeline.
So keep in mind that Banner says Back to the Future and Terminator is horseshit, and that time loops ARENT possible. If they killed Baby Thanos in the past, then the present will be the same, because all that would do is just create an alternate timeline.
So there’s a theory that after Captain America returns the infinity stones, he meets up with Peggy, they have their dance and get kids. Cap becomes the unnamed husband of Peggy.
The problem is that Ancient One and Banner both provide PROOF that literally this shouldn’t happen. In the MCU world, time traveling will not cause a time loop (only exception was Dr. Strange, but that was because he was in a dimension where time has no rules). But…the way the ending was presented Captain America just did a time loop.
They literally just contradicted themselves, and that is probably one thing I hate.
And it kind of makes sense. There’s an Old Cap in this timeline, so that means that the time loop theory MIGHT be true.
I think the final part I didn’t like about Endgame was the whole “Girl Power scene.”
Yes, it involves Captain Marvel, but not for the reasons (because Brie Larson sucks blah blah blah).
Sure, Brie Larson is annoying, but I don’t hate her. If I am going to critique a movie, I am not going to put in my feelings.
So there’s a scene where Captain Marvel tells Peter Parker to give her the Gauntlet, and Peter says “how are you going to get through the army.” Wanda says she’s not alone. and there’s a scene where all the female heroes join up.

I don’t know, but no one cheered in the theater. I guess it was cringey.
I think the main problem is Carol. Not because she’s boring or not hot
I think the problem was that Carol is shown to be more powerful than present Thor (unfair comparison because Thor wasn’t fighting for 5 years and out of shape, but another topic for another day).
She was shown to solo a ship by herself. So when I see the army I think to myself “Carol can literally just blitz right through them.” And that's what she does.

That's my problem with the scene, and what I feared KINDA came true. Carol was shown to be so powerful, that every time I see Carol fight against someone, I just think to myself “you know. She can just punch harder. After all, she can fricking get through a Kree and Thanos ship. Without a scratch.”
And that's what she did. The problem with the scenes were that barely everyone helped. No one needed to be there Sure, Gamora, Wanda and Valkyrie got some kills.
But carol just went through 90 percent of the army. Yes, she didn’t throw the infinity gauntlet in time in the van, but she just powered through. The other individuals didn’t even matter.
That scene would have been more powerful and better if Captain Marvel wasn’t RIDICOULSY overpowered. That's why the Original Avenger shot was epic. Because Thor and Hulk were strong, but they couldn’t solo a ship or an army.
I think that's why people didn’t like Carol Danvers. Because the only interesting part about Carol… is that she’s strong. If the only interesting thing about Captain Marvel is that she’s strong, that's not good character writing.
The main issue was that Carol didn’t NEED any of those girl heroes. She could have done it all by herself, and nothing would change.
avengers endgame review what i think about Avenger endgame is that,
Endgame is a good movie. Its not a perfect movie, and its certainly not the best superhero movie (Logan or The Dark Knight deserves that spot).
But just because there are some stuff that I don’t like doesn’t mean Endgame sucks.
